Job Description

Job Summary Key Code Media (KCM) has a great opportunity available for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our team in the Western US region. The Sr. Technical PM is responsible for managing overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of complex Broadcast and AV systems integration projects. Additionally, the Sr. Technical PM will ensure the timely completion of projects within project budget while maintaining quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. KCM is a leading systems integration and media technology company specializing in designing, integrating, managing, and supporting on-premises or cloud-based audio-visual, broadcast, and post-production solutions catering to a diverse range of industries such as media and entertainment, education, government, corporate, sports, and houses of worship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review & understand SOWs and project contract to determine time to deliver, allotment of available and required internal and/or third-party resources to various phases of project (people and dollars) Responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of the project, according to established project management procedures using MS Project on SharePoint and project workbook. Responsible for leading a Project Kickoff meeting among Sales, Technical engineers, Customer resources, Technical Support mgmt., Finance (as needed), Third Party resources (as needed) Responsible for the development of Project Completion and Customer Sign-off plans in close collaboration with the Project Engineer that addresses System Integration Testing (SIT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), issue resolution protocol and tracking for any problems found, and technical documentation delivery to the client (system diagrams, configuration records, SOPs, As-built documentation, etc.). Develop an overall project schedule that includes milestones with KCM executive management review and customer signoff. As part of the overall project schedule, develop, maintain, schedule, and certify completion of all vendor and 3 party professional services, commissioning and training. Upon project completion, develop and hold a project retrospective to identify and document lessons learned and project improvement suggestions and strategies. Responsible for effective communication with customers. Engage Finance/accounting and purchasing department personnel as need for capex purchases and/or equipment. Review project status weekly to keep it on schedule financially, identify problem areas, and spearhead resolution. Identify problem areas, and spearhead resolution, providing an executive summary for senior management. Raise awareness immediately to management regarding potential claims or back charges or any large costs that will affect Key Code Media financially on assigned projects. Ensure that any scope, schedule, cost or change of terms are handled in accordance to stated change order procedures. Retain responsibility for resolving all project related issues. Attend weekly team review of all projects and statuses and utilization. Raise any issues to management currently for escalation. Prepare project reports as requested by Sr. Project Manager and Program Director Keep accurate files and records of project status and activities via project workbook, Project Server and plan and change orders. Maintain and develop strong relationship with customers with direct interaction with focus on improving customers' perception of service, quality, on time delivery, responsiveness, and problem solving. Responsible for effective communication with customer including change orders and delivery, on-site visits (as needed) Provide regular updates to Sr. Project manager including standard project review meetings Respond to communications from customers regarding problems or concerns in a timely and professional manner with by returning all phone calls or emails by the end of each business day. Drive project results to satisfy customer requirements to increase Net Promoter Score Travel to various job sites required. Other duties assigned as needed. Skills and Abilities Able to analyze complex problems and generate solutions Able to deftly coordinate internal and external resources for successful project results Understand all revenue, cost and margin aspects of project management including percent complete accounting Understand and maintain project budgets. Create schedule of values detailing budget utilization and ensuring overall equipment, materials, and labor budgets remain on track. Effective communication and interaction with the project team, clients and other stakeholders Maintain an accurate list of all KCM inventory, tools and materials on-site, their use and disposition, and security. Attend AOC meetings and assist with collaboration and issue resolution with other trades, particularly in areas impacting the installation, commissioning, and use of the solutions within KCM's scope, maintaining a comprehensive Delay and Change Order log. Quality control
  • In close cooperation with the KCM site engineer, or in their absence, maintain an accurate and regular accounting of the hours billed by KCM staff and subcontractors and the performance level these personnel, providing early insight into quality and performance issues that need to be addressed and resolved.
Troubleshoot and solve project related issues Effectively manage multiple projects Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail. Understand AV/Broadcast system workflow and installation processes/best-practices. Experience in managing projects deploying
SMPTE ST
2110 and networked media solutions is highly preferred. Ability to understand complex technical problems and delegate them to the appropriate project engineer or vendor/partner. Understand construction documents and work closely with customers and other third-party stakeholders such as general contractors, architects, MEP, low-voltage contractors during the construction phases of a project. Coordinate equipment and services delivery based on customer project timelines. Staying on top of lead-times and potential tariffs that may affect timely delivery of goods and services. Ability to forecast potential risks in a project and create risk mitigation plans. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat with ability to utilize projectmanger.com, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Key Code Media driving standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, media technology, or a related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of project management experience leading system integration projects in the broadcast, audiovisual (AV), or media technology industries. Deep understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle for technical installations, including site coordination, equipment delivery, system integration, testing, and client handoff. Experience working closely with engineering teams, installers, and vendors to ensure successful deployment of complex AV/broadcast systems. Familiarity with technical equipment rack builds, MEP, HVAC, signal flow, cabling infrastructure, and on-site integration processes. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and budgets in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
