Job Summary The Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Administrative Director of Quality and partnering closely with the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and Enterprise Quality Team, will independently lead and manage enterprise-wide quality initiatives. These initiatives span key domains of the quality infrastructure—including Hospital Quality, Compliance, Infection Control, Risk & Safety, and other system-wide priorities—in alignment with Mass General Brigham's Quality strategy and goals. This role requires exceptional organizational and project management skills, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly complex, matrixed environment. The Senior Project Manager will work with a high degree of independence while collaborating closely with teams across the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO), enterprise hospitals, and external partners.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple, high-priority projects aligned with CQO and enterprise-wide quality goals.
  • Partner with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to drive initiatives that improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables; proactively identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide working groups and/or committees, ensuring clear objectives, effective collaboration, and measurable results.
  • Create and maintain project documentation and records (e.g., distribution lists, organizational charts, agendas, meeting notes/minutes) to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise and with external vendors/partners.
  • Promote and model Mass General Brigham values in all interactions and decisions, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, continuous learning, and collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.
  • Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
  • Communicates regularly on project status with project stakeholders.
  • Owns project plans for multiple large-scale projects.
  • Provides guidance to project coordinators and project managers.
  • Identifies potential risks early, analyzes the possible impact, and develops mitigation strategies.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field of Study or equivalent years of experience required, Master's Degree in a Related Field of Study preferred 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably in the healthcare industry required Previous experience in a leadership, lead, or team support role is required (0-1 years). Skills/Abilities/Competencies Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies. Experience with healthcare-specific project management tools and techniques. Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization. Ability to think about strategic problems, generate and present options, and facilitate consensus and decision-making among constituent groups and executive leadership. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and manage to schedule. Ability to effectively present ideas and information in a variety of formats to a wide range of audiences. Demonstrates team oriented, collaborative nature and is flexible, resourceful, and resilient. Adapts quickly and happily to changing conditions, uses resources and relationships to develop solutions. Ability to recognize when issues should be escalated.
