Job Description

Job Title:
Project Manager II Job Description This role involves leading power construction projects from initiation through closeout, focusing on transmission, substation, and utility-related projects. The Project Manager II will have end-to-end ownership of project delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedule, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Initiate, plan, execute, control, and evaluate power construction projects. Manage day-to-day construction activities in partnership with a Construction Manager, including budgeting, scheduling, progress tracking, forecasting, and KPI-based decision-making. Develop project work plans, define scope, objectives, and evaluation criteria. Manage project construction schedules using Primavera. Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and labor to support project timelines. Lead weekly manpower and equipment planning meetings. Manage contract execution, change orders, subcontractors, and risk mitigation efforts. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project personnel, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Prepare and submit progress reports, billing, and cash flow projections. Provide regular project performance and financial updates to senior management. Support site visits, field walk-downs, and client meetings as needed. Ensure adherence to safety programs, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, including OSHA, NEC, and
NFPA 70E.
Manage project closeout and warranty processes. Essential Skills 4-8 years of experience in project management with emphasis on transmission, substation, or data center utility projects. Substation experience of 4-8 years is a must. Full ownership of project scope expected. Experience managing projects of increasing size and scope. Strong construction fundamentals with clear understanding of field operations. Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and electrical plans and specifications. Familiarity with
OSHA, NEC, NFPA
70E, and other relevant safety and construction regulations. Financial management skills, including budget tracking, forecasting, and cost control. Ability to independently assess project status, timelines, and cost-to-complete. Additional Skills & Qualifications PMP, CCM, PE, or similar credentials preferred. Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency. Knowledge of power construction specifications and estimating. Experience with cash flow projections and billing. Strong analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Work Environment The work environment is project-based, involving a mix of office work and jobsite presence, including site visits and field walk-downs as needed. The team works closely with construction managers, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership, leading project teams on medium to large projects. The role follows a standard project management schedule with flexibility based on project needs, requiring professional office attire and appropriate PPE when on site. Company-paid travel expenses, a pickup truck, fuel card, iPhone, and P-card are provided. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $91000.00 - $137000.00/yr.
