Charleston, SC Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Hospitality Phone communication Brand storytelling Project execution Project leadership Strategic thinking in HR leadership Cross-functional communication Branding project leadership Full Job Description We are looking for a strategic, creative, and relationship-driven leader to lead strategic initiatives that elevate talent, culture, leadership experience, and organizational effectiveness across BHC. This role will focus on building a more intentional and elevated candidate journey while helping define what great talent looks like for our organization beyond technical skill alone. The ideal candidate will help us better identify individuals who align with our culture, commitment to service excellence, leadership expectations, wellness philosophy, and overall colleague experience. This is not a traditional recruiting role. We are looking for someone who can think differently about talent, challenge conventional approaches, and help shape a long-term strategy around building teams that reflect both who we are and where we are going. This individual will partner closely with operational leaders, People & Culture, brand, and executive leadership to help define the future of recruitment and talent experience across the organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development of a long-term talent and candidate experience strategy aligned with the organization's culture, service standards, wellness philosophy, and business goals Evaluate and redesign the candidate journey from first interaction through onboarding to create a more thoughtful, engaging, and hospitality-driven experience Evaluate systems and processes to ensure efficiency for the recruitment team while maintaining a positive and elevated candidate experience Evaluate and recommend assessment tools to aid in the selection of the right candidate for the right role Partner with leadership teams to better define the qualities, behaviors, leadership attributes, and emotional intelligence that drive success within the organization Develop innovative approaches to attract high-quality candidates who align with our culture, values, wellness philosophy, and approach to service excellence Help shape and elevate how we present ourselves as an employer, including storytelling, candidate messaging, and brand presence Identify creative sourcing strategies, partnerships, and pipelines that expand access to exceptional talent Challenge traditional recruiting methods and introduce more thoughtful and effective ways to evaluate talent and culture alignment Help define what hospitality, wellness, leadership presence, and service excellence should look and feel like throughout the candidate experience Support the development of hiring and onboarding experiences that reinforce connection, belonging, wellness, and long-term engagement Gather feedback and insights from candidates, leaders, and colleagues to continuously refine and improve the experience Partner cross-functionally to ensure talent strategy aligns with organizational priorities around culture, leadership, wellness, and guest experience
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications Five or more years of experience leading strategic initiatives related to talent, hospitality, culture, branding, service excellence, customer experience, or organizational development Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience Strong strategic thinking and project leadership capabilities Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization Strong understanding of luxury hospitality, service-driven environments, lifestyle brands, or culture-focused organizations preferred Creative thinker who is comfortable challenging existing approaches and driving change Strong communication, relationship building, and presentation skills Highly organized and execution focused with the ability to move ideas into action Passion for hospitality, wellness, leadership development, and creating meaningful human connections Leadership Attributes Strategic and future-focused Relationship-driven and collaborative Creative, innovative, and solutions- oriented Goal-oriented, accountable, and results-driven Passionate about people, wellness, and culture Strong emotional intelligence and leadership presence Deep appreciation for hospitality, human connection, and service excellence Measures of Success Define and implement a differentiated talent and candidate experience strategy aligned to the BHC brand and service standards Improve the quality of hire across priority and leadership roles by identifying and placing the right people in the right roles Establish a clear definition of the type of talent that thrives within BHC and integrate that into hiring practices Redesign and operationalize a candidate experience that is consistent, elevated, efficient, and reflective of the brand Improve candidate engagement, feedback, and acceptance rates across key roles Build scalable recruiting tools, standards, messaging, and selection frameworks that can be consistently applied across properties and teams Strengthen hiring manager alignment, accountability, and consistency throughout the recruitment process Develop sourcing strategies and pipelines that improve access to high-quality, culture-aligned talent Improve efficiency and effectiveness of recruiting processes while maintaining a high-touch candidate experience Increase organizational clarity and alignment around hiring standards, leadership expectations, and culture fit Successfully partner cross-functionally with operational leaders, People & Culture, brand, and executive leadership to drive adoption and execution Establish measurable recruiting and candidate experience KPIs, reporting cadence, and continuous improvement processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Ability to occasionally move throughout office, hotel, restaurant, and event environments. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, candidates, leadership teams, and external partners in person, virtually, and by phone. Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 15 pounds. Ability to travel occasionally between properties, venues, events, or business functions as needed. Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment with varying levels of noise, activity, and interaction.
