2003 Service Project Manager (DDC experience required) Position Summary The Service Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing service-related projects from initial handoff through project completion. This role oversees scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, customer communication, project execution, and financial performance while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within scope. Key Responsibilities Coordinate Service Projects Receive and organize incoming projects from Administration Gather and complete required project documentation Review project schedules and milestone timelines Evaluate project requirements and commissioning workload needs Coordinate scheduling with Operations, Engineering, and Programming teams to support project execution Manage Electrical Subcontractors Review and evaluate subcontractor bid proposals Collaborate with Sales regarding project requirements and pricing considerations Prepare and maintain subcontract agreements and related documentation Ensure subcontract terms and project expectations are properly executed Procure Project Materials Submit material requests to Parts Distribution Coordinate with panel fabrication partners and vendors Schedule material deliveries according to project timelines Communicate with customers regarding onsite material storage requirements Oversee Field Installation Activities Review project scope, specifications, and subcontract details with field subcontractors Communicate project schedules and completion priorities Provide clarification and direction during installation phases Ensure proper installation procedures and quality standards are followed Verify completion of assigned project tasks Support Project Billing Coordinate with Administration to ensure accurate project invoicing Work with customers to satisfy billing and documentation requirements Maintain Project Communication Provide regular updates to Engineering, Programming, Technicians, and Operations leadership regarding project status Conduct periodic site visits and document project progress Participate in jobsite and coordination meetings as needed Track schedule changes, project deadlines, and change order activity Price and manage change orders when required Complete Project Closeout Assist technicians in prioritizing and scheduling startup activities Coordinate with Engineering and Programming teams on required modifications and system corrections Receive turnover documentation from technicians Prepare closeout packages and as-built documentation Coordinate owner training and final service turnover activities Monitor Financial Performance Review labor reports and project cost data with Operations leadership Assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions to maintain project profitability Maintain Industry & Technical Knowledge Attend approved training programs and educational workshops Stay current with industry publications and technical resources Maintain working knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical installation practices, and project management principles Continue developing expertise in contract administration and negotiation practices Quality & Safety Responsibilities Enforce project safety requirements and safe commissioning practices Verify proper completion of commissioning documentation and project deliverables Ensure project tasks meet established quality and operational standards Communicate identified issues and corrective recommendations to Operations leadership Team Contribution Lead through professionalism and positive engagement Participate in project review and coordination meetings Support team success by sharing technical expertise and installation knowledge Contribute to departmental and organizational goals as needed Skills & Qualifications Ability to manage multiple concurrent service projects totaling approximately $500K Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and DDC controls Ability to independently manage smaller projects from kickoff through completion Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs require Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Effective written communication and documentation abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Project Education & Experience Associate degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred (not required) Experience with DDC system installation and startup Prior project management experience in a technical or construction-related environment preferred
