Job Description
A well‑established general contractor in the Knoxville / East Tennessee market is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead water and wastewater treatment plant and pump station projects . This role offers the opportunity to manage complex municipal infrastructure work from preconstruction through final closeout while working with experienced field teams and long‑term public owners. Position Overview The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overall project execution, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and owner communication. Projects include water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related utility infrastructure throughout the region. Key Responsibilities Manage water and wastewater construction projects from preconstruction through closeout Lead project budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and pay applications Oversee scheduling and coordination with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers Review and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and contract documentation Maintain strong relationships with municipal owners, engineers, and inspectors Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements Support procurement of long‑lead equipment and critical materials Qualifications 8+ years of project management experience with a general contractor Direct experience with water or wastewater treatment plants and/or pump stations Strong understanding of municipal construction, contract administration, and project controls Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead project teams effectively Experience working on public sector or utility projects preferred Why This Opportunity Stable backlog of water and wastewater infrastructure work Strong local presence with long‑term municipal clients Competitive compensation, benefits, and long‑term career growth Leadership role with autonomy and impact on major regional projects Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Medical Equipment Planning Project Manager
