Project Manager

Description Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support a portfolio of initiatives within a research-driven environment. This role will oversee a mix of infrastructure, data, and application-focused projects, including high-performance computing (HPC), AI-related initiatives, and laboratory systems. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring someone who can operate independently, manage cross-functional teams, and drive projects forward without heavy oversight. What You'll Be Doing + Manage end-to-end delivery of technical and infrastructure projects + Coordinate across cross-functional teams including engineering, research, and IT + Oversee projects related to: + Data center and hardware deployments + High-performance computing (HPC) environments + AI-related initiatives and tools + Laboratory systems and data migration efforts + Internal application development and enhancements + Drive timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication + Support onsite coordination during critical events (e.g., hardware installs) + Leverage tools (including AI where applicable) to improve efficiency in project tracking and reporting Work Environment + Looking for local candidates in the Memphis area + Onsite presence required as needed (primarily for key milestones such as hardware installations) Why This Role + Long-term contract with strong extension potential + Opportunity to work on cutting-edge research, AI, and infrastructure initiatives + Highly collaborative, technical environment with meaningful impact Requirements What We're Looking For + 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in technical or IT environments + Experience managing infrastructure, data center, or hardware-related projects + Strong ability to work independently with minimal direction + Comfortable managing multiple projects across different teams + Experience working in Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills + Exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) or research environments + Familiarity with AI tools (Copilot, Claude, automation tools) for workflow optimization + Experience with DevOps teams or cloud-based systems + Experience with ServiceNow or similar project tracking tools Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
