Full-Time Relocation Assistance Available Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to oversee the construction of data centers performed by colocation providers after the facility is operational. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and design requirements. This position focuses primarily on base building and MEP infrastructure components of large-scale data center projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage data center construction projects executed by colocation providers, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Independently evaluate project risks, identify gaps, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate and integrate tenant fit-out activities with base building design, construction, and commissioning efforts.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure alignment between construction activities and approved project plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and colocation providers, ensuring effective communication and project reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide ongoing performance evaluations and recommendations for continuous improvement of colocation providers.
  • Conduct regular site visits throughout the project lifecycle to monitor schedule adherence, quality, and coordination efforts. Required Skills Extensive knowledge of data center base building construction, including: Civil Structural Architectural Mechanical Electrical Controls Plumbing systems
  • Experience managing startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and establishing program-level construction requirements.
  • Deep understanding of data center design, construction methodologies, operational requirements, and sustainability practices.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale data center construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience mentoring and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong budget development and cost management capabilities.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Extensive vendor and contractor management experience, including contract negotiation and oversight.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, construction standards, and compliance processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience , with a focus on: Data center infrastructure Colocation facilities Hyperscale environments General contractor-led data center projects Demonstrated track record managing large-scale construction projects successfully.
