This role combines technical leadership for transportation infrastructure projects with responsibility for team management, operational oversight, staff development, quality assurance, business development, and service-line growth. The successful candidate will lead a team of schedulers and project controls professionals while serving as a senior technical resource for clients and project teams throughout Texas. Roles and Responsibilities This role supports a collaborative, high-performing team environment while helping ensure alignment with Foresight's values, technical standards, quality expectations, and strategic goals. Key roles/responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following: Team Leadership and Operations Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, coaching, and performance management for assigned team members. Support recruiting, onboarding, training, workload planning, utilization management, and career development activities. Conduct performance reviews, review timesheets, and provide regular employee feedback. Assist with the operational management and strategic direction of Foresight's construction-phase Scheduling & Project Controls practice. Develop, implement, and improve project controls processes, standards, templates, reporting systems, and quality procedures. Promote consistency in technical approaches, deliverables, documentation, and client service. Monitor team performance, resource allocation, project execution, and operational metrics. Business Development and Client Management Collaborate with leadership to support practice growth and business development initiatives. Participate in pre-positioning, proposal development, interviews, and other pursuit activities. Represent Foresight in client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for service expansion. Project Delivery/Subject Matter Expertise Provide leadership and oversight to support the successful delivery of scheduling and project controls services across transportation infrastructure projects. Lead or support project management activities, including scope and fee development, budget and schedule management, client communication, coordination, quality management, and overall project delivery. Provide CPM scheduling technical guidance, mentorship, and problem-solving support to project teams and staff. Advise project teams and clients on schedule-related risks, project controls strategies, schedule recovery efforts, and issue resolution. Provide technical oversight and support for complex scheduling assignments, including schedule reviews, delay analyses, Time Impact Analyses (TIA), claims evaluations, and dispute resolution efforts, as needed. Review and contribute to technical reports, executive summaries, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables. Perform quality reviews and provide technical leadership to promote consistency, accuracy, and excellence across scheduling and project controls deliverables. Job Location This role is located at Foresight's Austin, Texas headquarters and follows a fully in-person or hybrid schedule. Travel Requirements Less than 25% travel is expected to attend project meetings and conferences at various locations throughout Texas. Periodic site visits may also be required, involving standing and walking outdoors on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions and the proper use of PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, reflective vest, gloves, eye protection). Physical Requirements This role is primarily office-based and aligns with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) standards for professional/administrative work. Duties require extended sitting, computer use, reading, and participation in meetings, with occasional standing or light lifting of standard office materials. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. 15+ years of experience in construction scheduling, project controls, construction management, or related infrastructure project delivery roles. Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, and analyzing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for transportation infrastructure projects. Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, managing workloads, and supporting employee development. Experience managing project delivery, including client communication, project coordination, quality management, and budget and schedule oversight. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project delivery methods, contract requirements, schedule development, and critical path analysis. Experience coordinating with owners, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation and review of technical reports, presentations, and client-facing deliverables. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing project delivery, team leadership, and operational responsibilities. Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and/or Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification. 15+ years of progressive experience in construction scheduling, project controls, construction management, or related infrastructure project delivery. Experience supporting transportation agencies such as the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Experience performing or overseeing TIAs, delay analyses, schedule risk assessments, forensic schedule analyses, claims evaluations, and time extension reviews. Familiarity with project controls disciplines beyond scheduling, including cost controls, forecasting, risk management, earned value management, and performance reporting. Experience utilizing schedule analysis and risk management tools such as Acumen Fuse, Schedule Analyzer, Primavera Risk Analysis, or similar platforms. Experience developing project controls procedures, reporting systems, dashboards, quality management processes, and other operational tools. Experience supporting construction claims, dispute resolution, change order evaluations, constructability reviews, and contractor-facing project support. Experience supporting business development efforts, including strategic pursuits, proposal preparation, scope and fee development, and client relationship management. Experience managing a department, practice area, or technical service line, including staffing, utilization, recruiting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
