Job Description

The Opportunity A long established, award winning, 100% employee owned engineering, architecture, construction, environmental, and consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager•Transmission to join its Transmission & Distribution practice in Austin, Texas. With more than a century of experience and a global footprint, this firm is known for delivering complex infrastructure projects while fostering a strong ownership culture that empowers employees to think and act like business owners. In this role, you will manage overhead transmission projects from concept through completion, owning accountability for scope, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The position blends technical project leadership with client development and business growth, making it well suited for an entrepreneurial project manager who thrives in a client facing, fast paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage transmission projects from planning and design through construction and closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. Serve as the primary client point of contact, developing trusted relationships and driving repeat work and expanded services. Own project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, risk management, change management, and overall project profitability. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams while ensuring compliance with internal QA/QC processes and industry standards. Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, presentations, client pursuits, and strategic account growth. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited program. Minimum of 7 years of related experience, including 3+ years managing Transmission & Distribution engineering projects. Proven success in project management, including proposal development, contract negotiations, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information effectively to clients and leadership.
Preferred:
Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or PMP certification; experience with transmission design documents and NESC standards.
