Job Description

Position Summary CE Barker is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to support projects involving the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing of submittals and purchase orders, and compliance with TxDOT standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and track project submittals in accordance with TxDOT specifications and contract requirements Generate, process, and manage purchase orders (POs) Maintain accurate records of TxDOT project documentation Assist with contract documentation, correspondence, and filing systems Ensure compliance with TxDOT documentation standards and procedures Coordinate with project managers, field staff, vendors, and subcontractors Track and update project logs (submittal logs, material tracking logs, PO logs, etc.) Support invoice processing and documentation verification Assist general administrative duties Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in highway or civil construction Familiarity with TxDOT contract compliance requirements Experience working with TxDOT documentation and procedures Knowledge of submittal preparation and tracking processes Experience creating and managing purchase orders Strong understanding of construction administrative processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy Work Environment Office-based position with regular coordination with field personnel Fast-paced construction environment with deadline-driven tasks
