Salary Plan/Grade:
Project Management Spec I (B22): $57,614•$93,138/yearly Project Management Spec II (B24): $65,104•$106,634/yearly The Texas Depertment of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position offered based on the applicant's slill level, work experience, education and all other appropritate factors, and based on business needs.Minimum Salary :

Work includes coordinating the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Critical Path Method (CPM) for Department projects, and providing support for resource leveling, priority development, project analysis, reporting, and training. Works directly with the project manager to help define the project's goals and objectives. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Essential Duties:
Project Management Specialist II:
Assists in developing and supporting Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining, and archiving project schedules in accordance with document retention policies. Assists in the development, publishing and delivery of technical training and guidance to project personnel on scheduling and resourcing of projects. Develops and presents budget/cost summaries to the project managers and other employers. Plans, develops, maintains, and makes recommendations concerning detailed project schedules and facilitates on-time completion of projects with the optimal level of resources available. Supports the project management team and aides with the maintenance of timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems. Ensures proper schedule controls are appropriately implemented and maintained. Monitors and reviews the work of others to ensure project plans and schedules include the entire scope of work, management requirements, schedule hierarchy, division of responsibility, schedule review and approval requirements. Coordinates with others to develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules to ensure projects are executed in the most efficient manner possible. Coordinates project meetings and conducts presentations. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Project Management Spec III:
The above responsibilities and: Develops and supports Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining, and archiving project schedules. Develops, publishes, and delivers technical training and guidance to project personnel on planning and scheduling of projects. Evaluates and makes recommendations for developing, monitoring, and updating integrated project plans and schedules so that projects may be executed in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Identifies risks, assess their impact on projects and develops contingency plans to mitigate potential impacts. Recommends policy for Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, budgeting, and baseline management policies, practices and procedures. Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, drawings, and related documents. Oversees the planning, development and maintenance of detailed project schedules and facilitates on-time completion of projects with the optimal level of resources available. May serve as a lead worker by serving as a resource for complex questions; presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager Monitors and reports on major milestones for the program portfolio. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions forMinimum Qualifications Experience :

2 years project management or development, construction/engineering support, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.Project Management Spec III:
4 years project management or development, construction/engineering support, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.Licenses and Certifications :
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.Competencies:
