Job Description

Paragon is seeking a Director, PMO to join our team! The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading and optimizing enterprise-wide project execution to ensure successful delivery of projects across the organization. This role provides leadership and oversight of Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Schedulers while driving accountability for schedule adherence, budget performance, customer satisfaction, and execution excellence. The Director serves as a strategic leader responsible for establishing scalable project management processes, ensuring disciplined project governance, and aligning resources with organizational priorities. This individual will drive cross-functional accountability across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales, and other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, within scope, and in alignment with customer commitments. The Director will also serve as a key customer-facing leader, proactively managing project communications, escalations, and execution risks throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, Schedulers, and Coordinators. Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability for project outcomes. Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, transparency, and results. Partner with senior leadership to align project priorities with organizational strategy. Project Delivery & Execution Oversee the planning and execution of all projects to ensure delivery: On time Within approved budget Within defined scope Implement standardized project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Ensure effective project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Scope & Change Management Establish and enforce robust scope management and change control processes. Proactively identify and mitigate scope creep through governance and stakeholder alignment. Ensure all project changes are documented, evaluated, and approved appropriately. Financial & Resource Management Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance across the portfolio. Ensure efficient utilization of resources across projects. Identify risks related to cost overruns and develop corrective action plans. Governance & Reporting Define and maintain a scalable PMO governance framework. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into project performance. Regularly communicate status, risks, and performance metrics to executive stakeholders. Process Improvement & Standardization Continuously enhance PMO processes, tools, and templates to improve efficiency and outcomes. Drive adoption of project management standards and disciplines across the organization. Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a strategic partner to business leaders and functional teams. Ensure effective communication and alignment among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate resolution of cross-functional issues and escalations. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership roles. 5+ years managing a PMO or leading large project portfolios. PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills. Deep knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Proven ability to manage complex project portfolios with measurable results. Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management. Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar).
