In Project Season:
Oversee and direct Holiday Décor Projects. Communicate directly with upper management concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling. Update project status reports and work to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. Must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. Possesses a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Report to Holiday Décor Operations Manager. The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the entire process of a particular job. Coordinating all activities related to the actual assigned jobs sold by the sales department and taking a job from inception to final completion. The project manager coordinates all the labor, materials and subcontractors for the job. The responsibility includes maintaining customer satisfaction through the job.
Responsibilities:
Frequent travel, including extending days/weeks assignments, based on operational needs. Coordinates labor and tracks man hours per job per day to ensure timely and accurate install and take down of Holiday Lights project. Gets the job ready for installation, once the customer has accepted a job this will include ordering material, finalizing prices and contracts with subcontractors and updates on the job with upper management. Ensures a safe work environment which includes training and walk through of procedures and equipment with personnel. Maintains communication with customers throughout the job by contacting them in person, by phone, or through email. Operates a range of diesel/electric lifts at high elevation. Meets as needed with upper management to discuss the general flow of the jobs, job reviews, personnel, sub-contractor relations, equipment and the general well-being of the operations department. Hands out and is held responsible for all company tools and equipment issued, including their maintenance in good operating condition and proper company identification. Manages, documents, catalogues and maintains all physical holiday inventories. Drives trucks and trailers. Eager to learn and acquire new skills. Communicates with Holiday Lights supervisor and Holiday Lights laborers daily to ensure job success and quality. Will be required to climb ladders. Working knowledge of tools and equipment including wenches, lifts, blowers and additional equipment. Organize and prepare stock of holiday décor material. Will be required to prepare lights and décor for installation. Install holiday lights and holiday décor in trees, commercial venues and corporate centers. Walks through completed jobs, goes over job plans/documentation with foreman to ensure punch list is completed to customer's satisfaction.
- Seek out and or create new sales opportunities through management of existing client relationships, cold calling & internet searches to create new opportunities and leads.
- Respond to RFP's and Bid Requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bi-lingual required Ability to travel to different job sites on multi/day/multi-weeks assignments. Good communication skills with supervisor, laborers and upper management. Must follow directions, and be safe at all times. Must have a good work ethic. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Will be required to work night and/or day depending on specific job. Ability to work overtime and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Knowledge of electric power sources. Ability to communicate verbally & in writing with employees, vendors, and customers. Ability to recognize occupational hazards and safety precautions. Ability to work in heights. Ability to follow specific instructions accurately. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in décor and light applications. Excellent client-facing, internal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to bid light quantities, do take-offs, and measure roof lines for lights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Physical demands: Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; overhead reaching; ability to work in various positions; Including but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday; pushing and pulling materials and equipment.
Working conditions:
This position works outdoors in extreme weather conditions and climates. The employee will be exposed to dust, odors, fumes, machinery with moving parts, dirt, dust, debris, regularly. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Extensive travel required during the selling season to include vehicle travel throughout Texas and possible other states. Will be required to travel to San Antonio, TX for training Will be required to work nights and/or days depending on specific project. Overtime during peak season may be required.
