  • ( 2601147 ) Position Information TxDOT's Laredo District is looking for a Project Manager to manage various types of transportation projects for the region.
The District consists of eight counties including three bordering with Mexico. Can you manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently? Are you a problem solver? Work includes coordinating the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Critical Path Method (CPM) for Department projects, and providing support for resource leveling, priority development, project analysis, reporting, and training. Works directly with the project manager to help define the project's goals and objectives. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Essential Duties Project Management Specialist II:
Assists in developing and supporting Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining, and archiving project schedules in accordance with document retention policies. Plans, develops, maintains, and makes recommendations concerning detailed project schedules and facilitates on-time completion of projects with the optimal level of resources available. Supports the project management team and aides with the maintenance of timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems. Analyzes and reports on program funding change scenarios and their impact to individual project schedules. Assesses and reports actual project progress versus planned progress to determine trends and variances. Assists in critical path method (CPM) software implementation and best practices. Monitors and reports on major milestones for the project portfolio. Reviews detailed project schedules to ensure compliance with Department policies, practices and procedures. Coordinates project meetings and conducts presentations. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Identifies risks, assess their impact on projects and develops contingency plans to mitigate potential impacts. Oversees the planning, development and maintenance of detailed project schedules and facilitates on-time completion of projects with the optimal level of resources available. Oversees the scheduling of all activities associated with assigned projects to produce an integrated critical path schedule, updates as required and reports potential problems and/or problem areas. Analyzes and reports on program funding change scenarios and their impact to individual project schedules. Assists in critical path method (CPM) software implementation and best practices. Monitors and reports on major milestones for the project portfolio. Reviews detailed project schedules to ensure compliance with Department policies, practices and procedures. Coordinates project meetings and conducts presentations. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications :
