Job Description

Highway Project Manager:
Responsible for delivering project objectives for assigned projects, including planning, scope, schedule and budget management, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, resource allocation, quality assurance, and reporting.

Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesManage project(s) according to defined scope, schedule, and budget.

Collaborate with internal disciplines and external partners to develop a risk‑aware project scope and fee.

Develop project‑specific plans such as Project Management Plans or Quality Management Plans.

Create and maintain detailed project schedules.

Manage subcontractors or external consultants.

Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and prepare change order or task proposal requests.

Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in project financial status meetings.

Build and maintain client relationships to understand preferences and deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Prepare progress reports and review invoices.

Lead preparation and delivery of project status updates and presentations.

Support leadership with business development activities, including go/no‑go decisions, proposal development, and interview participation.

Coordinate technical team resources to ensure high‑quality project deliverables.

Provide coaching and mentorship through one‑on‑one check‑ins, debriefs, and performance feedback sessions.

Lead and manage team members through goal setting, performance discussions, coaching, and ongoing development.

Required Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited program.

Professional engineering licensure (or ability to obtain licensure).10+ years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Strong communication skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications Project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP).Experience working with public‑sector clients.

Experience with various project delivery methods (e.g., Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, P3).Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
