Job Description
Project Manager - Commercial DrywallPosition OverviewExperienced construction Project Manager to lead commercial drywall and acoustic ceiling projects from preconstruction through closeout. Responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality drywall, metal stud and acoustic systems on time, on budget and to safety and quality standards. Acts as the primary client and subcontractor contact, driving scheduling, cost control and field execution to meet project objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize and manage all phases of commercial drywall and acoustic projects, including metal stud framing and finish systems.
Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate trades, deliveries and on-site crews to meet milestones.
Monitor project budgets, track costs and change orders, and work with estimating to control profitability.
Supervise subcontractors and field staff, enforce quality standards and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
Conduct regular site meetings, coordinate with general contractors, architects and engineers, and serve as primary point of contact for clients.
Ensure jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; conduct safety meetings and inspections.
Review shop drawings, submittals and RFIs; resolve technical issues related to drywall, acoustics and stud systems.
Perform quality control inspections and punch lists; manage closeout documentation, warranties and final invoicing.
Provide regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Mentor and develop junior staff, promote best practices, and implement process improvements.
Qualifications2+ years managing commercial drywall projects, with demonstrated success delivering medium to large scale jobs.
Strong knowledge of gypsum board systems, acoustic ceilings, metal stud framing (stud), and related installation techniques.
Proven experience with project scheduling, budget management, change orders and cost control.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and shop drawings.
Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and common office tools.
Excellent leadership, communication and client management skills; able to coordinate multiple stakeholders and trades.
Relevant certifications such as OSHA 10/30, and any trade or safety certifications preferred.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Trades, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites; willingness to work on-site as required.
