Must Haves:

Candidates must have recent experience with VMware. Must have VAR experience. And VCF version 9 would be a slam dunk. Must have background in Project Management.

Updates/Intake Call Notes:

VMware experience

• migrations, deployments, upgrades (VCF upgrade experience HUGE plus) Scrum type environment Client/Executive facing May manage 4
• 6 clients at any given time. Projects range from $100K
• $1M based on specific client No travel expected (minimal at most) Key Responsibilities
• Lead multiple concurrent customer-facing technical programs and infrastructure projects from initiation through completion
• Manage 4-6 active client engagements simultaneously across varying scopes and timelines
• Oversee VMware-focused projects including migrations, deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
• Drive project execution within Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments as appropriate
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reporting, communication plans, RAID logs, and related delivery artifacts
• Facilitate project kickoff meetings, cadence calls, steering committee meetings, and executive-level updates
• Serve as the primary escalation point for project risks, issues, and delivery concerns
• Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, services delivery, sales, and customer leadership teams
• Track project financials, budgets, resource allocation, timelines, and delivery performance
• Ensure stakeholder alignment and proactively manage customer expectations throughout engagements
• Support statement of work development, project scoping, and delivery planning activities
• Mentor junior project managers and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the PMO and Services organization
• Promote operational excellence, accountability, collaboration, and customer satisfaction across all engagements Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience managing complex technical infrastructure or cloud-focused projects/programs
• Strong experience managing customer-facing enterprise technology initiatives
• Hands-on experience with VMware technologies including migrations, deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management
• Experience working within Scrum, Agile, or hybrid project delivery environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
• Experience interfacing directly with executive leadership, technical teams, and external customers
• Strong understanding of project financials, delivery governance, and risk management
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong working knowledge of project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar platforms
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in highly collaborative environments Preferred Qualifications
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) upgrade experience strongly preferred
• PMP certification preferred
• Experience leading infrastructure transformation or datacenter modernization initiatives
• Experience managing programs involving multiple interdependent workstreams
• Consulting, professional services, or VAR/MSP experience preferred
• Prior experience mentoring project managers or leading delivery teams in matrixed organizations Additional Information
