Job Description
Job Title:
Installation Project Manager Job Description The Installation Project Manager leads the full lifecycle execution of complex systems installations at customer sites around the world. This role oversees projects involving ion beam deposition and etch, laser annealing, wet processing, and lithography platforms, ensuring each installation meets technical specifications and is delivered on time. The Installation Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for the customer from project kickoff through final acceptance, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing schedules, risks, and communication throughout the engagement. Responsibilities Own the full installation lifecycle for each assigned project, from initial kickoff and site readiness verification through equipment delivery, installation, process qualification, customer acceptance testing, and final sign-off. Ensure all installation milestones are completed on schedule with no outstanding action items, maintaining clear traceability of tasks and deliverables. Develop and manage the master installation schedule, including task dependencies, critical path, resource allocation, and key milestones for each project. Provide clear, consistent weekly updates on progress, risks, and changes to both customer stakeholders and internal teams. Serve as the single point of contact for the customer throughout the installation process, ensuring seamless and professional communication at all stages. Coordinate activities across Field Service, Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Support, Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain to drive smooth and efficient execution. Confirm site readiness prior to equipment delivery by validating facilities infrastructure, utilities, safety requirements, and cleanroom conditions against installation specifications. Proactively identify and escalate any gaps in site readiness or infrastructure to avoid delays and protect project timelines. Identify and manage project risks, schedule shifts, and cross-project dependencies, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to keep installations on track. Drive timely escalations when needed to internal stakeholders and leadership to resolve issues that could impact delivery timelines or customer commitments. Lead project closeout activities, including securing formal customer acceptance and ensuring all acceptance criteria are documented and met. Document lessons learned at the conclusion of each installation and share insights with relevant teams to improve future project execution. Coordinate a smooth handoff to the service organization by preparing a complete transition package, including documentation, configuration details, and open items for ongoing support. Analyze trends related to installation cycle time, logistics, and quality, and collaborate with internal teams to implement scalable process improvements. Support continuous improvement initiatives across installation programs to enhance predictability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Represent the installation organization professionally at customer sites, reinforcing a culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineer. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics. Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams across Field Service, Engineering, Process Engineering, Logistics, and Supply Chain. Strong communication skills for providing clear, consistent status updates and acting as the primary point of contact for customers. Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, and to manage schedule shifts and dependencies across multiple projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with ion beam deposition and etch, laser annealing, wet processing, and lithography platforms is highly beneficial. Experience with semiconductor capital equipment installations in global customer environments is a plus. Demonstrated aptitude for continuous improvement, including analyzing trends in cycle time, logistics, and quality.
