On-Site Job Description A leading energy midstream firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate is a seasoned project leader with deep experience in pipeline or energy infrastructure development. Reporting to Executive Management, the new hire will drive project success by managing cross-functional teams and project lifecycles while ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining safety and quality standards, and meeting schedule and budget objectives. Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end project management for natural gas pipeline design and construction, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets tailored to customer needs. Oversee regulatory compliance, permitting processes for greenfield projects and operational reporting for existing assets. Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols. Monitor project progress using tools like MS Project or Oracle NetSuite, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to mitigate delays or cost overruns. Conduct regular site visits to pipeline construction locations, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and alignment with client requirements. Foster strong client relationships with customers, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring project deliverables exceed expectations. Mentor junior project managers and team members, promoting best practices in project management and energy infrastructure development. Prepare comprehensive reports, including project status updates, financial forecasts, and post-project evaluations to drive continuous improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends, such as advancements in pipeline materials, leak detection technologies, and sustainability initiatives in natural gas distribution.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical preferred), Project Management, or a related field; Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, with at least 5 years focused on natural gas pipeline design, construction, or operations Proven track record of managing multimillion-dollar projects, including experience with high-pressure transmission and distribution pipelines Compression design & operations is a plus In-depth knowledge of industry regulations (e.g., DOT 49 CFR Parts 192/195), safety standards (e.g., OSHA), and environmental guidelines Strong proficiency in project management software, risk analysis tools, project timeliness, cost estimation, budgeting and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 30%) and work in outdoor environments as needed Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and drug screening Experience with GIS mapping, hydraulic modeling, and pipeline integrity management systems preferred Familiarity with natural gas compression principles and application preferred Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems under tight deadlines preferred Due to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we regret that we are not able to personally respond to all applications.
