If you feel confident in these areas to take on this position of Lead Project Manager, we'd love to set up an interview with you. You will lead our custom pipe fabrication and welding projects in a fast-paced shop, from initial estimation through final shop delivery. In this role, you will bridge the gap between clients, engineering teams, and our shop floor welders. You will ensure that highly technical, custom pipe spools and modular skid systems are fabricated safely, on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with industry codes (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution :
Define project scope, create detailed fabrication schedules, and track milestones from material procurement through assembly, testing, and shipping.
Client & Stakeholder Communication :
Serve as the primary point of contact for industrial clients, providing regular status updates, managing design changes, and resolving technical challenges.
Blueprint & Submittal Review :
Interpret complex industrial piping Isometrics, P&IDs, and structural drawings to translate them into actionable shop fabrication packages and bills of materials (BOM).
Cost & Budget Management :
Track project costs against initial estimates, manage change orders, and optimize shop resource allocation to preserve profit margins.
Quality & Code Compliance Coordination :
Partner with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure all custom welding and pipe fabrication meets exact project specifications and standards such as ASME B31.3 and
AWS D1.1.
Material Procurement :
Coordinate with vendors to source specialty piping, valves, and fittings, ensuring materials arrive with correct Mill Test Reports (MTRs) to prevent shop downtime.
Required Qualifications Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience specifically within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, mechanical contracting, or a custom metal/pipe fabrication shop.
Technical Skills :
Deep understanding of industrial pipe fabrication processes, including structural steel fit-up, wall-thickness calculations, and common welding processes (GTAW/GMAW/FCAW).
Print Reading :
Expert ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, piping isometric drawings, and weld symbols.
Software Proficiency :
Experience using project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and ERP/MRP material tracking software. Certifications (Preferred) : AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), or a degree in Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering is highly valued but not required. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Split time between a professional office environment and an active, high-volume welding and fabrication shop. Must be comfortable walking the shop floor daily, which involves exposure to industrial noise, welding arcs, and heavy overhead cranes.
