$75,000-100,000 annual salary S&S Steel is looking for a full-time Project Manager who serves as the primary point of contact for customers and is responsible for the successful execution of assigned projects from award through completion. This role oversees project scope, schedule, quality, and budget, and coordinates internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and aligned with customer expectations. The Project Manager works closely with fabrication, detailing, and field teams to ensure that drawings, materials, and production timelines support project requirements and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities Plan, manage, and execute projects from award through final completion Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including sequencing and phasing of work Monitor project progress to ensure milestones and deadlines are met Identify, communicate, and manage project risks, including scope changes and production impacts Customer & Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary liaison between the company and the customer Manage customer communication, respond to inquiries, and resolve project issues Ensure customer requirements and contract documents are clearly understood and followed Project Documentation & Drawings Review project scope and confirm alignment with contract documents and specifications Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Verify drawings accurately reflect project scope Maintain accurate drawing logs and document control systems Release drawings and documents for production and customer use in a timely manner Coordination & Production Oversight Coordinate with fabrication, detailing, and field teams to support efficient project execution Conduct production and quality meetings to ensure alignment with project requirements Visit job sites as necessary to review progress and address field-related issues Quality & Compliance Participate in quality management reviews and improvement efforts Evaluate and address issues related to noncompliant vendors Ensure work aligns with quality management requirements and industry standards Required Skills & Competencies Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Customer-focused with strong problem-solving capabilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Results-driven with strong attention to detail Strong follow-through and accountability Working knowledge of fabrication and erection processes Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Tekla Powerfab Ability to interpret and apply the AISC Manual of Steel Construction Education Requirements Graduation from a two-year technical program or a four-year college or university degree Experience Requirements All experience requirements must be met and are not interchangeable : Minimum 5 years of project management experience Minimum 3 years of metal fabrication experience Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience Training Requirements Minimum two (2) hours of training annually Training will support the qualifications and skills required for the position Training will include current quality management requirements in accordance with AISC guidelines Benefits Paid Time Off Holiday Pay Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Why Work at S&S Steel At S&S Steel , you become part of a team that takes pride in craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity.
