Job Description
Randolph-Macon College is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Project Coordinator to support campus projects within the Physical Plant department. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Operations and Physical Plant, the Project Coordinator will plan, coordinate, and execute small-scale campus projects. Responsibilities include supporting minor renovations, coordinating office and departmental moves, assisting with furniture procurement, and working with internal departments and external vendors. This role ensures projects are well-organized, clearly communicated, and completed efficiently with minimal disruption to campus operations.

ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination:
Assist in managing small campus projects from planning through completionCoordinate schedules, resources, and tasks to keep projects on trackTrack progress, maintain documentation, and provide regular updatesHelp develop project timelines and monitor key milestonesCommunicate effectively with faculty and staff regarding project updates and impactsRenovations & Facilities Projects:
Support coordination of minor renovations (offices, classrooms, residence halls, and common areas)Collaborate with facilities staff and external contractorsAssist with site walkthroughs, punch lists, and project closeout documentationHelp obtain quotes, schedule work, and track vendor performanceMoves & Space Transitions:
Coordinate office, department, and campus movesSchedule moving services and ensure proper preparation and communicationAssist with furniture placement and logisticsSupport procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment Coordinate with ITS for technology, AV, and infrastructure needsQualificationsBachelors degree in project management, construction management, facilities management, business administration, or a related field requiredRelevant experience in project coordination, facilities, construction, or campus operations preferredStrong organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCollaborative approach to working with faculty, staff, vendors, and contractorsProficiency in Microsoft Office or project tracking toolsDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilitiesThe CollegeFounded in 1830, Randolph-Macon has about 1800 students and is located in Ashland, VA, a residential community 15 miles north of Richmond and 90 miles south of Washington D.C., thereby having all the benefits for its students, faculty and staff of a dynamic metropolitan area which serves as the state capital.
