Job Description:
Relationship First Recruiting is supporting a confidential direct-hire search for a Bridge Project Manager in Herndon, Virginia. This role is a strong fit for a senior bridge/structural engineer who has spent the last 10+ years in design and is ready to move further into project management, client communication, technical oversight, and team leadership.
Biggest needs for this role:
  • Active Professional Engineer license
  • 10+ years of bridge/structural engineering experience
  • Strong communication skills with clients, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Experience with bridge and transportation infrastructure projects
  • Ability to provide technical oversight and help drive projects forward
  • Interest in growing into a stronger leadership and project management role The work includes bridge, transportation, VDOT, design-build, and infrastructure projects throughout Virginia, including Northern Virginia.
This is not a heads-down design-only role. It is a great fit for someone who wants more ownership, more visibility, and the opportunity to help oversee, mentor, and develop engineering staff.
Location preference:
This search is primarily targeting candidates already located in Virginia, especially Northern Virginia. Relocation may be considered for a strong fit with the right PE, bridge/structural, and project management background.
Ideal background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, ideally with a structural focus
  • 10+ years of bridge/structural design experience
  • Licensed PE; Virginia PE strongly preferred
  • VDOT, Virginia locality, design-build, or transportation infrastructure experience is a strong plus
