Job Description:
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale structured cabling and data center infrastructure projects from kickoff through closeout. This role will be responsible for managing project execution, scheduling, resource planning, subcontractor coordination, financial performance, and client communication while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Client Coordination
Serve as the primary client-facing contact to assess project scope, schedule, and resource requirements
Develop project execution strategies, mobilization plans, and resource allocation schedules
Coordinate labor, equipment, and material availability with operations teams
Evaluate staffing and equipment needs based on project requirements Project Execution
Manage project schedules to ensure contractual deadlines and budget targets are met
Oversee day-to-day project activities and streamline workflows for efficiency
Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendor relationships
Provide regular project updates and progress reporting to customers and internal leadership
Prepare and manage change orders using required project management systems and customer tools
Monitor field installation activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to scope
Ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual deliverables are achieved Quality & Compliance
Partner with QA/QC teams to ensure project specifications and quality standards are clearly communicated and achieved
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable quality plans, building codes, and industry standards
Monitor compliance with structured cabling standards and safety protocols Financial & Operational Management
Track project budgets, job costs, profitability, and schedule performance through internal reporting systems
Evaluate project cost versus performance to ensure financial targets are achieved
Coordinate project schedule alignment with customer master schedules
Communicate scope changes, project risks, and scheduling impacts to internal and external stakeholders Project Closeout
Coordinate project closeout documentation and final deliverables
Manage customer acceptance, final walkthroughs, and project signoff
Assist with project billing support and accounts receivable coordination as needed Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Provide coaching, mentorship, and development support to project teams and field personnel
Promote continuous improvement and Lean operational practices
Support adoption of emerging technologies and process enhancements
Participate in internal meetings, planning sessions, and operational reviews Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, structured cabling, or data center infrastructure environments
Proven experience managing large-scale structured cabling and infrastructure build projects
Experience managing projects valued at $1M+ and large service contracts
Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and financial performance management
Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field teams Preferred Certifications
PMP Certification
BICSI RCDD
BICSI RTPM
OSHA 30 Technical Knowledge
Structured cabling systems and industry best practices
Data center infrastructure and rack/cabinet installations
Building codes and BICSI standards
Product experience with major structured cabling manufacturers such as Panduit, CommScope, and Corning
Knowledge of quality and safety standards within mission critical environments Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
