Mechanical Project Engineer Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering required. 5+ years of mechanical (HVAC) design experience in commercial, government, academic, R D, high-rise multi-family, or industrial projects. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant HVAC modeling software (CHVAC/RHVAC, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest). EIT and LEED accreditation strongly preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred. Mechanical Project Engineer Preferred Background & Skills Strong mentoring and team leadership ability. Excellent communication and client relationship skills. Demonstrated project management and organization capabilities. Mechanical Project Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities Perform all levels of mechanical (HVAC) design, including creating detailed construction documents. Oversee complete project lifecycle, from planning through construction and completion. Review work by junior staff for quality assurance, and serve as a mentor and technical resource. Lead or participate in client meetings, providing project updates and coordinating design solutions. Conduct site visits to document existing field conditions and monitor construction progress. Develop project specifications, construction budgets, and cost estimates. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and company quality standards.
