About Us:
We are a mechanical and plumbing contractor seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. Our team specializes in large renovations and new construction of municipal projects in the Virginia and DC area like fire stations, courthouses, and schools. We are committed to quality, safety, and excellence in every aspect of our work.
Job Description:
As an Assistant Project Manager you will help plan, execute, and deliver project milestones under the guidance and training of our Project Management team. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their careers in construction management with opportunities to grow their role and eventually become a full Project Manager. A previous knowledge of construction or project management is not required but will be considered when discussing pay and job track.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and coordination of projects from inception to completion Support project managers in tracking timelines, budgets, and resources Prepare project documentation including contracts, reports, RFIs, and submittals Collaborate with trade partners and team members to ensure project milestones are met Attend meetings and take detailed notes for follow-up actions Communicate project updates and changes to subcontractors and field staff Monitor site safety and compliance with regulations Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the project management team

Proactively identify challenges and devise effective solutions
Analytical Thinking:
Assess situations, evaluate options, and make informed decisions that benefit the project
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe required; Outlook and Procore proficiency is a plus
Adaptability:
Comfortable with changing circumstances and able to pivot strategies as needed in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Construction:
Familiarity with basic construction terminology preferred; knowledge or experience in the construction industry a plus

A proactive and calm demeanor that enhances morale and collaboration

Eagerness to learn and grow within the construction industry
Interpersonal Skills:
Capable of building rapport with diverse team members, subcontractors, and clients, contributing to a cohesive work environment Attention to

Compensation & Benefits:
Full-time position (part-time not available) Salary Range $40-60,000 commensurate with experience Eventual opportunity for hybrid work (in-person required during training) Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays Health insurance; Dental, and Vision coverage
