Job Description
Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, complex IT modernization and migration initiatives in a hybrid environment based in Mechanicsville, VA. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, vendors, cloud transformation efforts, application migrations, infrastructure modernization, and emerging AI-enabled solutions while ensuring successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. The position is open to candidates within a 100-mile radius of Mechanicsville, VA. The client is only considering candidates who can work without requiring present or future employment sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases Manage project budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, issues, and stakeholder communications Coordinate cross-functional teams including business units, technical teams, architects, security teams, and leadership stakeholders Oversee vendor and contractor performance, contract deliverables, and statement-of-work compliance Ensure adherence to architecture standards, security policies, and project governance requirements Manage testing activities, release planning, change management, and production deployments Support application modernization, cloud migration, infrastructure upgrades, and vulnerability remediation initiatives Provide project reporting, performance metrics, KPI tracking, and executive-level status updates Facilitate training, knowledge transfer, and organizational adoption activities Required Skills (with Years) Large-scale IT Project Management and Migration Programs
- 5+ years Managing Project Budgets, Schedules, Risks, and Deliverables
- 5+ years Cloud Computing Concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Hybrid Cloud)
- 5+ years Automation Technologies, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- 5+ years DevOps Methodologies and CI/CD Pipelines
- 5+ years Agile, Scrum, or PMP-Based Project Delivery
- 5+ years Executive Communication and Stakeholder Management
- 5+ years Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination
