Job Description

Overview Join our AIT's dynamic team as a Project Manager and lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects across the maritime sector. This energetic role offers the opportunity to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines, and ensure quality standards are met. As a key driver of project success, you'll utilize your expertise in project management software and scheduling tools to keep projects on track and within scope. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates and schedules all work on vessel, providing work list for department heads.
  • Liaison between port engineer and department heads.
  • Schedules visit and/or inspections with regulatory bodies.
  • Estimates supply support on bids and additional items to the work package.
  • Tracks all job costs and provides weekly billing projections.
  • Prepares, edits and proofreads correspondence, invoices, and related materials.
  • Submits completed invoices to the billing department for payment.
  • Calls on delinquent accounts.
  • Strategically prioritizes each job schedule and coordinates department man hours.
  • Implements, manages and coordinates the repairs of vessels in a shipyard in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, and quality of the project assigned.
  • Responsible for establishing the contract baseline and for maintaining that baseline for the life of the project
  • Establishes budgets and approve schedules for the project
  • Determines the scope of the work package, evaluates the ability of the Production Department to support the work package, and recommends modification of the work package
  • Approves all time charges and material expenditures, unless otherwise delegated
  • Identifies improvements in work practices and processes
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of five (5) years shipboard experience within the trade(s) to be supervised
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory responsibilities required
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and instruments associated with the trade
  • Must be able to work effectively with others
  • Must be a steady, reliable worker
  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with others
  • Must be able to comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches includes weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
  • Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain US Navy base and local shipyard access credentials (DBIDS, NAVSEA, CAC, etc.

Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
