Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to support a government organization in Richmond, Virginia through a Long-term Contract engagement. This position will lead public-facing communication initiatives, oversee event-related coordination, and help shape outreach strategies that strengthen engagement with residents, partners, and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong project leadership with excellent written communication, visual content development, and the ability to manage cross-functional efforts across multiple channels.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and execution of communication-focused projects, ensuring timelines, priorities, and deliverables remain aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and refine public outreach materials such as newsletters, messaging strategies, and budget-conscious communication plans for diverse audiences.
  • Create visually engaging promotional content, including flyers and related materials, to support campaigns, announcements, and community engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate logistics for large-scale agency events, special programs, press briefings, and public announcements from concept through completion.
  • Manage and expand external communication initiatives that connect effectively with residents, community partners, elected officials, faith-based groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Use traditional media and digital platforms, including social media channels, to broaden message distribution and improve public visibility.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to organize priorities, track project progress, and maintain consistent messaging across outreach activities.
