Senior Project Manager Overview We are seeking a highly capable Senior Project Manager with experience in both Waterfall and Agile delivery who demonstrates strong critical thinking, ownership, and execution leadership. This individual will be responsible for driving complex initiatives from concept through delivery by gaining a deep understanding of project scope, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring successful execution. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and accountable, with the ability to identify risks, remove obstacles, and guide teams toward the right outcomes. This role requires someone who can think strategically while executing tactically, ensuring projects deliver measurable business value. Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience managing complex projects or programs in a large enterprise or federal government environment (including at least 5 years in Agile delivery and 5 years in traditional Waterfall delivery). Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and work tracking. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive execution. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. PMP certification and CSM or SAFe Scrum Master certification. Experience working with enterprise technology or digital delivery teams. Experience managing complex, multi-team initiatives. Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects across cross-functional teams. Develop project plans, milestones, and deliverables aligned with business objectives. Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure accountability throughout execution. Maintain focus on delivering measurable business value. Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Direct and coordinate work plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Identify, communicate, and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact project success. Mentor and guide team members to support effective project execution. Agile Delivery & Tools Lead projects within an Agile delivery environment supporting iterative planning and sprint execution. Collaborate with Product Owners, technical leads, and development teams to prioritize and manage backlogs. Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage work items, track progress, and monitor delivery metrics. Ensure backlog grooming, sprint planning, and task tracking are maintained in Azure DevOps. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Analyze project challenges, dependencies, and constraints to determine effective solutions. Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies. Challenge assumptions, ask clarifying questions, and improve project outcomes. Make informed decisions while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication Serve as the primary coordination point between project teams, leadership, and stakeholders. Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment and transparency. Communicate project status, risks, issues, and key decisions effectively. Facilitate discussions that promote consensus and drive project momentum.
