Job Description

Job Title:
Project Manager The Project Manager provides independent management and delivery of projects within a transit delivery portfolio, acting as an extension of the owner's staff. This role leads assigned construction and engineering projects from planning through closeout, supporting state-of-good-repair and capital programs. The Project Manager coordinates stakeholders, manages project controls, and ensures all required procedures and documentation are completed in a fast-paced public works environment. Responsibilities + Lead assigned construction and engineering projects from initial planning through project closeout, ensuring alignment with state-of-good-repair and capital program objectives. + Act as an extension of the owner's staff, representing project interests and maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders. + Coordinate stakeholders across departments and disciplines to ensure timely decision-making and resolution of project issues. + Develop, manage, and track project budgets, scopes, and schedules, ensuring projects remain on time and within approved funding. + Prepare and maintain regular budget and schedule reports, providing clear status updates and tracking against project milestones. + Implement and monitor project quality controls to ensure work meets established standards and requirements. + Complete all required project procedures, forms, and documentation in accordance with agency standards and processes. + Prepare documentation to support procurements, including scopes of work, technical requirements, and related materials. + Develop and compile materials for board approvals and other governance processes related to project decisions and funding. + Support project delivery across Small Works, Job Order Contracting (JOC), and larger capital efforts within a public works environment. + Coordinate requests for information (RFIs) and project correspondence, ensuring timely responses and accurate records. + Use Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar tools to manage project information, schedules, and documentation. + Assist in the creation of onboarding documents for design or construction team members, ensuring new participants understand project expectations and procedures. + Collaborate closely with a Senior Project Manager or Director for work assignments, progress reporting, and escalation of key issues. + Manage multiple concurrent priorities and tasks in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining strong follow-through and attention to detail. Essential Skills + Minimum 5 years of experience leading construction or engineering projects. + Proven experience developing and managing project budgets, scopes, schedules, and quality controls. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder coordination and reporting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and analysis. + Experience using SharePoint for project document management and collaboration. + Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software for planning and tracking project timelines. + Experience with Bluebeam or similar tools for reviewing and managing construction and engineering documents. + Detail-oriented approach with strong follow-through to ensure completion of project tasks and documentation. + Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working in a transit, public works, or similar capital project environment. + Background in construction management, project coordination, or project engineering. + Familiarity with Small Works and Job Order Contracting (JOC) project delivery methods. + Experience preparing documentation for procurements, board approvals, and other formal project processes. + Ability to coordinate requests for information (RFIs) and maintain organized project records. + Comfort working as an embedded or co-located resource within a client's project delivery team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
