Job Description
We're looking for a full-time Senior Project Manager to join our team. This role is all about keeping construction projects running smoothly-from planning through completion-while making sure everything stays safe, on schedule, on budget, and built to a high standard. The right person will be confident managing all aspects of a job and comfortable taking ownership of results.
What You'll DoAs a Senior Project Manager, you'll follow our Project Process Manual and take the lead on estimating job costs, preparing bids, and keeping projects organized from day one. You'll run pre-construction meetings, secure permits, coordinate inspections and approvals, and lead internal project kick-off meetings before work begins.
Within 30 days of a signed owner or client contract, you'll ensure that at least 90% of subcontractor agreements are in place and awarded before the project starts. Throughout the build, you'll stay in close communication with owners, tenants, architects, and engineers, providing weekly project updates and leading regular on-site meetings to keep everyone aligned.
You'll create and manage detailed project schedules, updating them weekly and monthly, and handle change orders, RFIs, and RFPs accurately and on time. Monitoring costs is a big part of the role-you'll prepare monthly cost reports and projections and review and approve invoices each week.
Regular site visits are key to making sure work is progressing as planned and meeting quality expectations. You'll address questions or issues with architects, owners, and subcontractors as they come up, using good judgment and escalating budget or technical concerns when needed. You'll also oversee superintendents and subcontractors daily, reinforce safety standards, and motivate project teams to hit production and quality goals.
Beyond project execution, you'll help mentor Project Managers on larger jobs, support HR functions, participate in performance evaluations, and document both positive and corrective feedback. You'll also assist with marketing efforts, client presentations, and identifying new business opportunities, along with taking on special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking ForA degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field7-10 years of experience managing commercial or industrial construction projectsAt least 6 years of experience reading blueprints, specs, and design documentsOSHA 30-Hour certification (plus First Aid/CPR, Forklift, and Aerial certifications within the first year)Strong skills in Microsoft Office; Viewpoint Vista experience is a plusYou should be comfortable reading contracts, plans, and regulatory documents, creating reports, and communicating clearly at all levels. Solid math skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must. A good understanding of building codes, industry standards, estimating, and scheduling is also important.
We're looking for someone who communicates well, takes initiative, works well independently and with a team, and adapts easily in a fast-paced environment. Discretion and professionalism are essential.
Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and insurance, be authorized to work in the U.S., and be willing to travel as needed.
