Job Description

The Metals Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of reinforcing steel and post-tensioning scopes of work from contract award through project closeout. This role administers contracts, manages cost, schedule, and quality objectives, and coordinates with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders in accordance with industry standards and contractual requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Metals Project Manager Project Planning and Administration Manage reinforcing steel and post-tensioning projects in accordance with contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and applicable AIA agreements Establish project budgets, schedules, and work plans consistent with estimate assumptions and contract requirements Administer subcontractor and supplier agreements, purchase orders, and change management processes Maintain project documentation in accordance with standard construction record-keeping practices Cost and Change Management Track project costs, commitments, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle Evaluate and negotiate change orders, back charges, and scope adjustments Prepare and submit pricing for changes in scope, delays, or unforeseen conditions Monitor labor and material costs to ensure alignment with budget objectives Schedule and Coordination Coordinate project activities with general contractors, design professionals, suppliers, and field operations Review and integrate project schedules to support reinforcing steel and post-tensioning installation sequencing Identify potential schedule impacts and develop mitigation strategies Support short-term and long-term planning efforts related to material delivery and installation Technical and Scope Oversight Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and bar lists for scope, completeness, and coordination Manage detailing and post-tensioning system coordination with engineers and specialty vendors Ensure scope alignment with
CSI / CRIS
definitions and bid assumptions Address constructability issues and field-related technical questions Quality, Safety, and Compliance Support quality control procedures to ensure work conforms to contract documents and industry standards Coordinate required inspections, testing, and documentation for reinforcing steel and post-tensioning work Promote compliance with project safety requirements and company policies Communication and Reporting Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communications Prepare project reports related to cost, schedule, and status Facilitate meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders as required Support project closeout, including final documentation and financial reconciliation Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of reinforcing steel and post-tensioning construction practices Knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration principles Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Experience in construction project management with emphasis on reinforcing steel and/or post-tensioning Proficiency with project management and cost tracking software and spreadsheet applications Working knowledge of AIA contract documents preferred Familiarity with CSI divisions and CRIS-style scope delineation preferred HS123
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
