Job Description

About the Job As a Strategic Advisory Sr. Specialist, you will support analysis, process improvement, and solution development for Strategic Advisory engagements. This role focuses on understanding key business processes, gathering and analyzing source materials, and researching best practices. You will be responsible for supporting the development of core materials that are delivered to clients. What You'll Do Design and participate in stakeholder interviews to understand business challenges and identify opportunities Develop presentations that summarize findings and proposed recommendations Ensure project team members meet key delivery timelines and key milestones Support the assessment of core business processes across various business segments Work with client team members to turn recommendations into actionable project plans and gain buy-in for workstreams Support change management activities tied to consulting engagements to help partner organizations adopt recommendations Research best practices across Northwestern Mutual and industry standards Monitor trends in technology and financial services and contribute insights to recommendations Build and maintain working relationships with peers in partner organizations Participate in internal team activities to share knowledge, research, and best practices Attend stand-ups and project management cadences to support initiative progress What You'll Bring to the Role 2-4 years in client-facing consulting roles or equivalent experience supporting projects and initiatives in the insurance or financial services industry Exposure to or participation in change management initiatives Familiarity with basic process improvement concepts (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) Ability to learn new concepts and business strategies with guidance Ability to research and understand insurance segments with direction Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; able to develop clear presentations with support Comfortable presenting to small groups; developing executive storytelling skills Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks with guidance under defined timelines Ability to collaborate across teams and work effectively with different stakeholders Comfortable working in some ambiguity with support from senior team members Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to contribute actively to team efforts
