Job Title:
Capital Projects Manager Job Description The Capital Projects Manager oversees all capital projects at an industrial plant in Sinclair, Wyoming, ensuring they are planned, coordinated, and delivered safely, on time, and within scope. This role provides end-to-end project management for refinery and plant construction initiatives, working closely with internal teams and external partners to achieve operational and business objectives. Responsibilities Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all capital projects at the plant, from initial concept through completion and handover. Manage refinery and plant construction projects, ensuring work follows design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. Develop project plans, schedules, and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure projects stay on track and within defined scope. Coordinate project activities across construction management, project management, and project coordination functions to maintain alignment and efficiency. Oversee contractors and vendors involved in refinery construction and capital projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to contractual obligations. Identify project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on timelines and plant operations. Collaborate with plant stakeholders to define project requirements, priorities, and resource needs, and ensure projects support broader plant objectives. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, status updates, and records of key decisions and changes. Support commissioning and turnover activities to ensure completed capital projects integrate smoothly into ongoing plant operations. Essential Skills Proven experience as a Capital Projects Manager or in a similar project management role within an industrial or plant environment. Strong background in construction management, with specific experience in refinery or plant construction projects. Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of capital projects. Experience in project coordination, managing multiple stakeholders and activities across the project lifecycle. Ability to oversee refinery construction activities and ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and priorities. Clear and professional communication skills for working with plant personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a refinery construction manager or project manager in a similar industrial setting. Familiarity with capital project processes and best practices in an industrial or refinery environment. Ability to interpret project documentation, such as plans, schedules, and technical specifications. Capability to work effectively in a plant-based role in Sinclair, Wyoming, supporting on-site project needs. Work Environment This role is based on-site at an industrial plant in Sinclair, Wyoming, with a primary focus on managing capital and refinery construction projects. The work environment involves regular presence in both office and field settings within the plant, including active construction areas where adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate protective equipment is expected. The position requires close collaboration with plant staff, contractors, and project teams to support day-to-day project activities and ensure successful delivery of capital projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cheyenne, WY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
