Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall operations of residential or commercial properties, ensuring smooth day-to-day management, exceptional tenant relations, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help foster a positive living or working environment while maximizing property performance. Responsibilities Assist in managing property leasing activities, including showing units, processing applications, and upselling available spaces to prospective tenants. Support rent collection efforts and ensure timely payments through effective customer service and follow-up. Coordinate property maintenance requests and oversee facilities management to maintain high standards of property condition. Maintain accurate data entry and filing of tenant records, lease agreements, contracts, and legal documents in property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other relevant legal requirements. Handle conflict management with tenants or vendors professionally, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining positive relationships. Assist with legal administrative tasks related to landlord-tenant law, lease negotiations, and contract administration. Support the property team in conducting inspections, yard audits, and safety checks using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools. Provide excellent customer service via phone etiquette and face-to-face interactions to foster strong tenant relationships. Collaborate with vendors for property maintenance and repairs while ensuring adherence to contracts and service level agreements. Requirements Proven experience in real estate administrative roles or property management support functions. Familiarity with Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software platforms. Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing regulations, Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant law. Strong understanding of property leasing processes, contracts, and legal documentation. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective conflict management abilities. Office experience including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with facilities management systems (CMMS) or similar tools is a plus.
