Job Summary:
The Community Resources Supervisor oversees eligibility and enrollment and continual process improvement to deliver operational excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Participates in interviews, selection, hiring, and onboarding of staff. Provides training, advice, direction, and oversight for staff. Manages staff schedules and ensures adequate coverage. Delivers regular performance feedback and constructive performance evaluations; follows established disciplinary and termination procedures as needed. Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations. Provides career development opportunities, mentoring, coaching, and performance goal setting under the direction of the department manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develops and implements new projects, programs, policies, and procedures for the department to meet specified goals. Schedules and confirms appointments; verifies insurance and eligibility; provides application and enrollment assistance for affordable insurance options. Performs eligibility follow-up including Sliding Fee Scale documentation and other required household information. Coordinates and assists with Medicaid application to enroll patients in Medicaid or other appropriate public health programs. Manages and reviews referrals, work queues, patient lists, emails, and referrals in Electronic Health Record. Ensures outreach activities are coordinated between partners and eligibility staff. Explains community resources and connects patients with appropriate resources. Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve patient problems and concerns. Promotes and provides access to care. Builds effective relationships with community partners and other stakeholders that aligns with NOAH's Key Results. Creates and coordinates a robust Community Resource referral process with agencies to best serve patients. Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Excellent management and supervisory skills. Excellent communication skills including active listening. Service-oriented and able to resolve patient grievances. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and NOAH services. Knowledge of Medicaid (AHCCCS), Medicare, Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and other public programs. Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience:
Required:
3+ years of experience in providing eligibility assistance. 2+ years of experience in using web-based eligibility systems and Electronic Health Record. 1+ years of leadership experience. High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
Associate's degree.
Other Requirements:
New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022). Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
