The first is full time, 36 hours per week, 7 AM to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The second is part time, 24 hours per week, 7 PM to 7:30 AM on Monday and Tuesday.
Job Summary:
The Community Services Attendant serves as the eyes, ears, and welcoming presence of Scottsdale Shadows. This position helps create a safe, well-maintained, and professionally managed community by assisting residents and guests, managing community access, conducting property inspections, responding to operational concerns, and coordinating with other departments to address issues as they arise. Through visibility, observation, communication, and timely response, Community Services Attendants help protect community assets and maintain the quality-of-life residents expect throughout the community. What The Work Actually Looks Like This is an active, highly visible role that combines resident interaction, property observation, problem identification, documentation, and operational response. A portion of your time will involve managing guest access, assisting residents, answering questions, and monitoring activity at the gatehouse. Other times are spent throughout the community conducting inspections, checking amenities and access points, observing community conditions, identifying maintenance concerns, documenting incidents, monitoring cameras, and responding to unexpected situations as they arise. Responsibilities Community Access and Resident Assistance Serve as a visible and professional presence throughout Scottsdale Shadows while assisting residents, guests, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Manage community access in accordance with established procedures, verify appropriate credentials, provide information and assistance, and help ensure a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for all who enter the community. Community Monitoring and Property Inspections Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, amenities, access points, and common areas to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, rule violations, property damage, unauthorized activity, and other conditions requiring attention. Document observations accurately and ensure concerns are communicated and addressed through established processes. Operational Response and Problem Resolution Respond to routine operational issues, resident concerns, maintenance-related situations, and unexpected events requiring immediate attention. Exercise sound judgment, take appropriate action within assigned authority, coordinate with internal departments and external resources as needed, and document outcomes to support effective community operations. Emergency Awareness and Incident Response Assist with emergency situations by following established procedures, maintaining situational awareness, coordinating with emergency responders when necessary, supporting resident safety, and ensuring timely communication and escalation of incidents requiring additional resources or intervention. Communication, Documentation, and Technology Prepare accurate reports, maintain required documentation, monitor assigned technology systems, and communicate information clearly and professionally through written, verbal, and electronic channels. Ensure incidents, observations, and operational activities are documented in accordance with established procedures. Teamwork and Community Stewardship Contribute to a culture of professionalism, accountability, and service excellence. Work collaboratively with Community Services team members and colleagues throughout the organization to support community goals, uphold organizational values, protect community assets, and continuously improve the resident experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of customer service, hospitality, security, facilities, property management, community operations, military, public safety, or related experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide professional customer service, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively, follow established procedures, and maintain professionalism in a variety of situations. Ability to observe conditions, identify concerns, document information accurately, and take appropriate action in accordance with established policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents, guests, contractors, vendors, emergency responders, and fellow team members. Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and ability to work independently while remaining an effective member of a team. Comfortable utilizing technology, including computers, mobile devices, cameras, access control systems, communication systems, and electronic reporting tools. Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional when responding to emergencies, unexpected situations, changing priorities, and resident concerns. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS
Scottsdale Shadows is a large residential community consisting of 13 mid-rise residential buildings, recreational facilities, parking areas, and extensive common areas. These duties are performed on a regular and recurring basis and are essential to maintaining community safety, security, and service levels. The essential functions of the Community Services Attendant position include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducting routine patrols of all residential buildings and common areas throughout each shift including climbing stairs. Walking significant distances while inspecting buildings, parking areas, recreational facilities, and other common areas. Responding to resident requests, emergencies, safety concerns, suspicious activity, and maintenance issues throughout the community. Inspecting doors, gates, elevators, parking areas, and amenities to identify and document violations, hazards, damage, or unauthorized activity. Entering and exiting a golf cart repeatedly while conducting patrols and inspections. Assisting residents with various operational needs, including installing and removing elevator pads for resident moves and association projects.
