Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Leasing Clerk for a contract/temporary opportunity in Santa Monica, CA. This onsite role supports a residential property management environment with a focus on affordable housing administration, resident relations, leasing documentation, rent payment processing, and regulatory compliance. The Leasing Clerk will regularly interact with residents, applicants, vendors, maintenance teams, and internal staff to help ensure smooth daily property operations. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented administrative professional with property management experience who enjoys helping residents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a well-organized leasing office. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment, values responsive customer service, and understands the importance of compliance, confidentiality, and timely follow-through in affordable housing operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Interact regularly with residents, applicants, staff, and vendors to address questions, concerns, and property-related issues in a professional manner.
  • Pre-qualify applicants according to applicable affordable housing regulatory agreements and funding program requirements.
  • Process annual resident income recertification paperwork and maintain accurate resident files and supporting documentation.
  • Post rent payments, including HACLA and LACDA payments, adjust payments as needed, and complete monthly rent journals.
  • Prepare and post resident notices promptly while helping enforce landlord rules, lease provisions, parking agreements, and Fair Housing requirements.
  • Assist with work order follow-up, incident report preparation, and move-in/move-out administration. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay rate: $27 per hour.
  • Job type: Contract/temporary.
  • Work location: 100% onsite in Santa Monica, CA.
  • Schedule:
    8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • Assignment coverage: Maternity leave coverage.
