Salary:
$67,000 - $79,000 per year. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
This role provides operational leadership for membership, health and wellness, aquatics, and other assigned branch programming areas to ensure a high-quality, member-focused experience aligned with YMCA values and community impact goals. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, staffing coordination, budgeting, operational planning, revenue growth, and performance metrics while supporting membership growth, engagement, retention, and program participation. The position collaborates closely with branch and Association leadership to drive operational consistency, strategic initiatives, marketing efforts, and continuous improvement across departments. The role also ensures compliance with YMCA policies, risk management practices, and standard operating procedures while supporting fundraising, community engagement, and branch-wide initiatives. In addition, the role provides direct leadership and supervision to staff through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development. Success in this position requires strong operational leadership, relationship-building, accountability, and the ability to foster a collaborative, service-focused culture that enhances member engagement and organizational effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with ability to serve a diverse urban community. Bachelor's degree in business, recreation, nonprofit leadership, sports management, health promotion, or related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in operations, membership, health and wellness, aquatics, programming, or related YMCA/community environments. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff while managing multiple operational priorities. Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and organizational levels. Proven ability to balance operational responsibilities with strong member and community engagement. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications YMCA leadership experience preferred. Experience in membership operations, healthy living, aquatics, or multi-department branch operations. Multi-lingual preferred. Experience in urban community environments is strongly preferred.
