Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic multifamily housing team. In this vital role, you will support the day-to-day operations of residential communities, ensuring exceptional customer service, lease management, and property maintenance. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment for residents while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, including Fair Housing laws and Section 8 programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your property management skills and contribute to the success of our vibrant communities. Responsibilities Assist in leasing activities by conducting property tours, upselling available units, and processing applications using property management software such as Yardi and OneSite. Support lease negotiations, contract preparation, and renewal processes while ensuring compliance with legal and Fair Housing regulations. Manage resident relations by addressing inquiries promptly via phone and in person, resolving conflicts effectively, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Coordinate property maintenance requests, oversee facilities management tasks, and ensure timely resolution of issues to uphold property standards. Maintain accurate data entry, filing systems, and administrative records related to leasing, rent payments, Section 8 documentation, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) compliance, and legal administrative processes. Assist with rent collection activities, including processing payments through CRM systems and following up on overdue accounts. Support the property team with office tasks such as filing contracts, managing correspondence, and preparing reports on occupancy rates or maintenance logs. Requirements Prior experience in property management or real estate administrative roles is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, Landlord-Tenant Law, Fair Housing regulations, and contracts. Proficiency with Yardi, OneSite property management software, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and Office applications. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities. Demonstrated ability to negotiate lease terms and upsell units effectively while maintaining compliance standards. Experience in facilities management or property maintenance coordination is a plus. Ability to handle data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
