Full-time Department Fire Location Operations Salary Weekly Pay Range:
$1,100.93 - $1,475.43 Open Date 05/21/2026 Description PURPOSE The purpose of this classification, under general supervision, works in the coordination and administration of activities for the Fire Department Community Paramedicine Program. This includes making scheduled house calls to evaluate client needs and navigation to available services, treatment, counseling, case management, evaluating social inadequacies, chronic health conditions, mental health and substance abuse, and coordination of services for housing, health care, and other support. The position also serves an integral role in the City's Drug Abuse Response Team (DART) which navigates victims of drug abuse to treatment services. The Community Paramedicine Officer reports directly to the Community Paramedicine Coordinator. Performs related work as required.EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent (USAFI not accepted). Must possess one of the followingState of Florida Licenses:
Paramedic license, Registered Nurse license, License Practical Nurse, OR Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Services, OR other related field from an accredited institution. Additional required certifications are Healthcare Provider Level CPR certification, American Heart Association ACLS (if applies), valid Florida State Drivers License. Certifications/Licenses must remain valid for period of employment in this classification. NOTE This position requires a drug screen. If applicant did not receive drug screening upon initial hire with the City; applicant will be required to submit to drug screening prior to accepting this position.JOB DESCRIPTION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Establishes and coordinates the efforts of the Community Paramedicine Program. Performs home visits of clients to include but not limited to health assessment, home evaluation, education, documentation, and coordination of needed services. Functions as a member of and coordinator for the Drug Abuse Response Team. This includes but is not limited to home visits, coordination of services, documentation, and follow-up care.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
