Job Description

Lead Nurse (CAT & Residential Programs) St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) - St. Augustine, FL Full-Time | Salaried/Exempt Make an Impact Where It Matters Most St. Augustine Youth Services is seeking a compassionate, organized, and clinically strong Lead Nurse to support both our Community Action Team (CAT) and Residential Programs . This leadership role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in both direct care and supervisory responsibilities. The Lead Nurse will divide time between the CAT team and residential services while providing oversight, guidance, and leadership to nursing staff. This position also provides coverage support when needed to ensure continuity of care across programs. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who values teamwork, compliance, quality care, and improving outcomes for youth and families. Primary Responsibilities Provide nursing leadership and oversight for CAT and Residential programs Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff across programs Ensure quality nursing care and compliance with agency, state, and regulatory requirements Assist with medication oversight, documentation review, and care coordination Support staff with clinical guidance, problem-solving, and best practices Maintain nursing schedules and assist with staffing coverage as needed Step in to provide direct nursing coverage during absences, vacancies, or high-need periods Collaborate with program leadership, therapists, case managers, psychiatrists, and direct care staff Support treatment planning and continuity of care for youth served Monitor health-related documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Assist with audits, quality assurance initiatives, and policy adherence Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high-quality service delivery Qualifications Active Florida RN license required Florida Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, youth services, residential treatment, or community-based care preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and programs Knowledge of documentation standards, compliance, and healthcare regulations Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required Preferred Experience Pediatric or adolescent behavioral health Crisis intervention Community mental health Residential treatment settings Staff supervision and coaching Why Join SAYS?
