Job Description

The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a proactive and solutions-driven professional to serve as our next Utility Manager within the Public Works Department. This position plays a critical role in coordinating utility infrastructure projects, managing right-of-way activities, supporting emergency response operations, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. What You'll Do As Utility Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between the City, utility providers, contractors, developers, and the public to support safe and efficient utility operations throughout the community.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating utility relocations and construction activities related to roadway and infrastructure projectsReviewing permit applications and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standardsManaging utility-related contracts, agreements, and tracking systems within the public right-of-wayUtilizing systems such as OpenGov, ArcGIS, Lucity, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office to monitor and document operationsConducting site inspections before, during, and after construction activitiesCollaborating with internal departments, external agencies, contractors, and residents to resolve issues and support project deliveryServing in after-hours emergency response and on-call operations as neededRepresenting the department at meetings, committees, workshops, and community events What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is organized, technically capable, customer-service oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum of three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Georgia driver's licenseWorking knowledge of:
