Job Description

Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is hiring a full-time Kauhale Manager in Honolulu, Oahu to oversee daily operations at our Iwilei supportive housing community. This on-site leadership role supports adults experiencing mental health and housing challenges through recovery-oriented housing, behavioral health support, and community-based care. In this role, you will lead day-to-day housing operations, supervise staff, and help residents strengthen stability, wellness, and independence in a safe and respectful environment. Free clinical supervision hours are available for eligible employees pursuing LCSW licensure. This role is ideal for emerging behavioral health leaders who want to combine supportive housing, recovery-oriented care, and clinical growth in a mission-driven environment. What You ll Do (Responsibilities)
Housing Operations:
Oversee intakes, occupancy, rent collection, and unit inspections
Resident Support:
Coordinate behavioral health, housing, and community-based services
Team Leadership:
Supervise, coach, and support Kauhale Specialists and daily workflows
Safety & Crisis Response :
Maintain safety protocols and respond to resident or facility emergencies
Recovery-Oriented Support :
Encourage stability, wellness, and person-centered engagement
Community Collaboration:
Partner with internal teams, HMIS/CES providers, and community agencies
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records and support program compliance standards
Facility Coordination:
Monitor maintenance needs and support a clean, stable living environment
Kauhale Manager Qualifications Minimum:
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) required
Preferred:
Three (3)+ years of experience in behavioral health, supportive housing, case management, or community mental health
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, crisis intervention, organization, and relationship-building skills
Certifications:
TB clearance, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Fit for the
