Full Job Description Position Summary and Mission of Department:
The Assistant Residential Housing Manager position is responsible for assisting the Residential House Manager maintain the day-to-day needs for the Residential Housing Services Department and its clients for the evening at O'Brien House. This position must be able and willing to work holidays and/or weekends when requested. In addition, these positions require the ability to maintain order in a professional manner as well as be capable of resolving conflicts. This position (Level 2 or 3) on duty when there is no professional staff on duty shall supervise the activities of the facility during this time. This person shall have adequate orientation and skills to assess situations related to relapse and to provide access to appropriate medical care when needed.
Education/Experience Minimum Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma with three (3) years of work experience in working with people, housekeeping, telephone communication, reading and writing skills and the ability to complete assigned tasks in an efficient manner. In addition, they must have knowledge of alcoholism, drug addiction and recovery.
JOB DUTIES
1. Must be capable of handling emergency situations. 2. Must make daily inspections of Residential Housing Facilities. 3. Supervise the making of bed charts and assist with the assignments of beds for the new clients including the preparation of bedding and residential needs for the client. This position requires working with the Intake Division closely. 4. Monitor the bed-check list to ensure accuracy and ensure the medication storage needs are in order. 5. Supervise and check all supplies. Keep medicines in proper order and monitor the dispensing of all medication and documentation in accordance with O'Brien House rules. This includes the proper disposing of medicines with the permission of clinical director/counselor. 6. Assist in the observation and take urine screens as ordered on daily log and fill out all necessary paperwork. Ensure all AT Staff completes this task properly. 7. Assist transportation services by driving clients to substance abuse meetings, hospital, meetings, etc. as needed. 8. Develop, maintain and supervise 3-24 hour shifts (8:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.; 4:00p.m.-12:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m.) with professional, competent and reliable desk personnel staff. 9. Ensure both Residential Housing Service Desk Areas are prepared for daily operations including supplies and equipment. 10. Coordinate and conduct quarterly meetings with desk personnel staff to ensure unity of services and/or educational needs or training. Report meeting dates to the Assistant Director and Operations Manager. 11. Coordinate the supply and ordering of residential needs such as medicines, linen, clothing, and first aid needs with the Operations Manager weekly. 12. Conduct daily bed checks of all residents. Complete warning and infraction write-up documentation for client and counselor review. 13. Assist in client discharge procedures to ensure all necessary exit check lists are complete, such as loans, linen rentals, etc. 14. Ensure all in services and departmental training are complete as assigned and required by agency, local, state and federal guidelines for your staff. Obtain assistance from the In-Services Coordinator. 15. Facility and Grounds Inspections (Walk through) are done daily. Coordinate and make sure the overall cleanliness and order of the Residential Housing Services Department and residential areas are done by assigning chore lists for client assistance. You may seek assistance from clients at service work hours and community service workers to help with ensuring the overall cleanliness and order of the facilities and grounds are done. 16. Maintain paper products (toilet tissue and paper towels) throughout the facilities, and grounds through daily checks and replenishment. Order products bi-weekly, or as needed 17. Observe client's behavior daily and report any problems or conflicts that may arise to the Clinical Director, Counselors and/or Executive Director. 19.
