Job Description

Our client a property management company in the Merrimack Valley area is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Community Manager to oversee one of their larger properties in Lowell, MA. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive property management knowledge, and a can do attitude. This leadership role is responsible for property performance, staff supervision, resident relations, budgeting, maintenance oversight, leasing operations, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who can effectively manage teams and maintain high property standards.
Responsibilities Include:
Oversee daily operations of residential properties to ensure efficient, profitable performance. Maintain occupancy goals, resident satisfaction, and property appearance standards. Respond to resident concerns and escalated issues in a professional and timely manner. Ensure compliance with company policies, housing regulations, and safety standards. Staff Leadership & Supervision Supervise leasing, maintenance, and office staff. Conduct hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Lead regular staff meetings and promote accountability and teamwork. Support employee development and oversee workers' compensation reporting when necessary. Maintenance & Capital Projects Coordinate maintenance operations, apartment turnovers, and vendor services. Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee subcontractors and capital improvement projects. Manage emergency response procedures and seasonal operations including snow removal. Leasing & Resident Management Oversee leasing activities, renewals, transfers, notices, and evictions. Monitor marketing efforts and leasing performance to meet occupancy goals. Supervise rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and court-related processes. Financial Responsibilities Assist in preparing and managing annual operating budgets. Monitor expenses, approve invoices, and prepare monthly management reports. Oversee security deposit processing and ensure financial compliance.
Qualifications Needed:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in property management or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of property management experience. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Experience with budgeting, housing regulations, leasing, and maintenance operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software. Valid driver's license required. Combination of office and on-site property responsibilities. Ability to inspect properties in various weather conditions. Availability for emergency response after hours as needed. Reliable transportation required; mileage reimbursement provided.
