1099 Independent Contractor Position Overview Juan And Sam is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and highly reliable Community Day Program Director / Community Operations Coordinator to oversee a Community Day Services Program serving one adult male Maryland DDA client in residential and community settings. This is an essential position requiring hands-on client support, operational oversight, staff leadership, and 24/7 on-call availability to ensure continuity of care and program success. The successful candidate must possess extensive experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and be able to independently manage daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, professionalism, and accountability. Essential ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Operations Oversee daily operations of the Community Day Services Program. Ensure program policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently followed. Address frontline issues and operational challenges as they arise. Ensure adequate staffing coverage during absences and emergencies. Provide staff training, coaching, guidance, and corrective action when necessary. Model professional, positive, healthy, and supportive behavior for both staff and client. Maintain a well-organized, clean, and safe program environment. Direct Client Support Provide direct, hands-on support to the client in residential and community settings. Transport the client to community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and other scheduled events. Actively support and supervise the client during all outings and activities. Assist, encourage, and motivate the client toward increased independence in accordance with treatment plan goals. Support development of activities of daily living, personal hygiene, communication, socialization, self-advocacy, and community integration skills. Help the client manage challenging behaviors while teaching appropriate alternative behaviors. Utilize positive reinforcement techniques and person-centered approaches. Maintain awareness of seizure-related safety concerns and provide appropriate support when necessary. Activity Planning & Documentation Develop and implement monthly activity schedules in advance. Plan and actively participate in recreational, educational, fitness, and community-based activities. Encourage client engagement and participation in meaningful experiences. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and daily shift notes. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 6 years of consistent, relevant work experience. Prior management or supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Clean criminal background check. Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification. Ability to obtain CMT certification within 90 days of hire. Physical ability to participate in community activities and provide hands-on client support. Experience supporting individuals with seizure disorders. Preferred Working knowledge of Maryland DDA services and community-based supports. Experience developing person-centered activity plans and behavioral support strategies. Work Expectations This position is classified as an essential role.
The incumbent must:
Be available on a consistent and reliable basis. Maintain 24/7 on-call availability for program-related emergencies. Be willing to work beyond normal business hours and overtime when necessary. Assist with coverage when staffing shortages occur. Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when working with coworkers and stakeholders.
