Job Description

Job Summary Chesapeake Care Resources is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Supervisor to join our healthcare team to support the mission of providing quality services that enhance and improve the lives of individuals with a disability. The Residential Supervisor takes a leadership role in providing essential care to individuals with disabilities at a 1:4 ratio. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care protocols, excellent communication skills, and being passionate about making a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. The ideal candidate would have experience in direct care, assessment and medication administration. This is a salaried position. Responsibilities Monitor staff performance in residences. Provide support, encouragement and training as needed. Report any problems to Residential Director in a timely fashion. Assist with staff scheduling. Cover units in times of staff shortages including overnights and be on call as scheduled which may occur spontaneously/last minute. Provide transportation for individuals and/or attend activities and appointments, as needed. Participate in the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) process including development, implementation and documentation of outcomes, as needed. Monitor data collection. Monitor and assure proper client hygiene and safety as well as overall operation and maintenance of the unit inside and outside with an emphasis on the cleanliness of facilities. Monitor/assure implementation/accurate paperwork. Assist in providing on-the-job training for new staff in all areas to include direct care, paperwork, and company policies per the job description. As a
CMT:
consistently follows policies and procedures as taught in MTTP curriculum by accurately dispensing medications following "6 Rights" protocol. Assist with shopping and disbursement of food, residential and client items. Make constructive use of time while on duty. Participate in staff meetings and on-going staff training as required by agency. Maintain appropriate certifications including but not limited to: FA, CPR, Medication Administration, Certified Nursing Assistant. Promote and support agency philosophy and objectives to staff and public. Assure adherence to center policies and standards, as well as applicable licensing/regulatory requirements Engage in a positive professional manner with staff, with health care professionals, and in all representation of CCR. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree in relevant field, preferred and 1 year experience working with Developmentally Disabled individuals or appropriate combination of education and experience. Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred. Current Maryland CMT, preferred Excellent oral, written and computer skills. Training and skills appropriate to meet an individual's needs. Ability to supervise and manage staff with appropriate leadership skills relevant to the position. Ability to work a rotating schedule, be very flexible regarding on-call availability and commit to excellent attendance. Ability to perform essential functions such as stand/sit/walk/twist/turn/stoop/bend/squat and kneel as required.
Ability to:
lift 60 pounds/120 pounds with assistance; pivot and transfer individuals; use lifting device (Hoyer/ARJO) with sling to transfer individual up to 200 pounds; push individuals in wheelchairs on flat surfaces and up and down ramps in program areas and throughout the community.
